Banyana Banyana legend Amanda Dlamini has urged the South African team to approach their semi-final clash against Nigeria with strong self-belief, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

South Africa’s quest to retain their Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title will face a tough challenge on Tuesday when they take on nine-time champions, the Super Falcons of Nigeria.

Speaking ahead of the highly anticipated encounter, Dlamini emphasized that confidence will be key to overcoming the formidable Nigerian side.

“For South Africa, they have to believe,” she said. “Coming into this competition, they need to remind themselves that they are the defending champions and carry that attitude.”

She added, “While that mindset is important, they must also recognize that Nigeria will be equally motivated not to miss out on the WAFCON title again.”
