Nigerian referee Eunice Akintoye Yemisi has been appointed as the fourth official for the upcoming Group B clash between Senegal and Zambia at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The second round of matches in the tournament kicks off on Wednesday in Morocco, following Saturday’s opening game between hosts Morocco and Zambia’s Shepolopolo.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has unveiled the officiating team for the Senegal vs Zambia encounter. Ethiopia’s Vincentia Amedome will take charge as the centre referee, assisted by Yekini Shitou of Benin and Hamidou Alfa from Côte d'Ivoire.

Gabon’s Pierre Atcho and Carine Afomo will oversee the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties.

Yemisi’s appointment highlights the continued recognition of Nigerian officials on the continental stage.
