WAFCON 2024: Madugu Justifies Player Selection In Tunisia Clash

Sampson Adedeji

Super Falcons coach, Justin Madugu, has defended his squad selection following Nigeria’s 3-0 win over Tunisia at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Madugu had faced criticism over the inclusion of certain players in his final squad list, but insists that every player in the team is there on merit.

“Every player here is important and deserves to be part of the team,” Madugu said. “We promote unity and ensure that no one feels more important than the other.”

He emphasized that team selection is based on performance and form.

“Everyone has an equal opportunity. Those who perform well will keep their place. If someone falls short, we have the option to make changes in order to keep improving,” he added.
