Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has called on her teammates to approach the upcoming 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) with full commitment and focus, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian team is looking to bounce back after falling short in the previous edition, where they were eliminated in the semi-finals by hosts Morocco.

Speaking to CAF Media, Nnadozie acknowledged that their group, which includes Algeria, Tunisia, and Botswana, poses significant challenges despite initial impressions.

“People might think it’s a manageable group, but the reality is very different,” she said.

“Women’s football has grown tremendously. Every team is getting better, working harder, and investing in development.”

She pointed to surprises in the last tournament as evidence that no team should be underestimated.

“This group is tricky, and we must treat it with the seriousness it deserves. Qualification won’t be handed to us—we’ll have to earn it through hard work and discipline,” Nnadozie added.

The Super Falcons are placed in Group B as they aim to reclaim their dominance on the continental stage.
