WAFCON 2024: Oparanozie Shares Tactical Advice To Super Falcons On Beating Banyana Banyana

Former Super Falcons striker and team legend, Desiree Oparanozie, has offered tactical advice to Nigeria ahead of their crucial semi-final clash against South Africa at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The nine-time champions are set to face reigning champions Banyana Banyana on Tuesday in a highly anticipated showdown.

Speaking to CAF media, Oparanozie urged the Falcons to replicate their solid defensive performance seen earlier in the tournament.

“My advice to the Super Falcons is to maintain a compact defensive shape, just like they did against Zambia and during the group stage where they didn’t concede,” she said.

“They need to defend narrowly, crowd the central areas, and close down spaces to prevent South Africa’s forwards from finding openings or creating clear chances,” she added.
