South Africa’s Banyana Banyana head coach, Desiree Ellis, has issued a bold statement ahead of their highly anticipated semi-final clash against Nigeria at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The defending champions secured their spot in the last four after edging out Senegal 4-1 on penalties in a tense quarter-final match on Saturday night.

Their next challenge is a showdown with the Super Falcons, who cruised past the Copper Queens of Zambia with a dominant 5-0 victory on Friday.

Despite Nigeria’s status as nine-time champions, Ellis remains optimistic about her team’s chances.

“We know what this match means. We know what it takes to beat Nigeria,” she told CAFonline.

The semi-final fixture is scheduled for Tuesday at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca.
