WAFCON 2024 Final: Morocco Ready For Nigeria’s Physical Challenge – Coach Vilda
Sampson Adedeji
Atlas Lionesses head coach Jorge Vilda says his team is fully prepared for the highly anticipated showdown against Nigeria’s Super Falcons in the final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Nine-time champions Nigeria will square off with Morocco on Saturday in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
Vilda acknowledged the strength of the Nigerian team but insisted his players will not be intimidated
“The psychological aspect overrides the physical one in games like this,” Vilda said. “Nigeria has strong, physical players with excellent individual qualities. They play in top leagues and have won this trophy many times.
“They’ve shown remarkable improvement throughout the tournament, overcoming very difficult teams, but we will face them without any inferiority complex.”
Morocco, who finished as runners-up in the last edition after losing 2-1 to South Africa, will be looking to make history by winning their first WAFCON title.
