Morocco’s senior women’s national team, the Atlas Lionesses, will on Monday commence camping as preparations intensify for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The North Africans are gearing up for the continental tournament scheduled to take place from March 17 to April 3, 2026, where Africa’s finest women’s teams will battle for supremacy.

The Atlas Lionesses, under the supervision of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, are expected to begin a structured training programme aimed at sharpening tactical cohesion, fitness levels, and squad depth ahead of the competition.

Morocco will be targeting a place in the semi-finals, a feat that would secure qualification for the next FIFA Women’s World Cup slated to be hosted in Brazil.

Having emerged as one of the rapidly improving sides in African women’s football in recent years, the Atlas Lionesses will be keen to leverage home support and recent tournament experience as they chase continental glory and a ticket to the global stage.
