Ahead of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, South Africa's national women's team, Banyana Banyana, has unveiled a provisional squad for the competition, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The team's head coach, Desiree Ellis, announced the list on Tuesday afternoon, with a notable highlight being the return of star forward Thembi Kgatlana.

Banyana Banyana, who were narrowly defeated by Nigeria in the semi-finals of the previous edition, are determined to reclaim the title and secure one of the four available spots for the next FIFA Women's World Cup.

The South African team is focused on a strong campaign as they aim to build on their previous performances and make a mark in the 2026 tournament.
