Barely a month before the start of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, Ghana's Black Queens have set their sights on winning the continental title for the first time at the expense of Nigeria's Super Falcons, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Black Queens head into the tournament with renewed confidence after securing a bronze medal at the previous edition and are determined to go one step further in Morocco.

Speaking ahead of the competition, the team expressed its ambition to improve on its last performance and lift the coveted trophy.

"We're determined to build on our bronze medal finish from the last edition and get the title this time," the team stated.

Ghana has been drawn in Group D alongside Cabo Verde, Mali, and Cameroon, with the Black Queens aiming to top the group and mount a serious challenge for their maiden WAFCON crown.

The 2026 WAFCON is expected to feature Africa's best women's national teams, with several title contenders set to battle for continental supremacy in Morocco.
