WAFCON 2026: Kenya Starlets Protest Over Unpaid Allowances Ahead Of France Camp
Sampson Adedeji
Kenya’s women’s national team, Harambee Starlets, have staged a protest at the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Goal Project offices, demanding the immediate payment of their outstanding allowances before travelling for their final pre-Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) training camp in France, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The players reportedly visited the federation’s offices to express their concerns over delayed payments, insisting that their financial obligations should be settled before the team departs for the crucial preparation camp.
The Harambee Starlets are expected to intensify their preparations for the 2026 WAFCON tournament in Morocco, where they will compete against some of Africa’s best women’s football teams.
The protest comes at a critical stage of their preparations, with the players calling on FKF to resolve the issue quickly to allow the team to focus fully on their continental campaign.
Kenya will be hoping to make a strong impression at WAFCON 2026 as they continue their preparations for the tournament scheduled to take place in Morocco.
