The Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has reinforced the technical crew of the Malawi Women's National Team ahead of the country's maiden appearance at the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

FAM announced the appointments of Sudesh Singh as Technical Advisor and Tyrese Steyn as Performance Analyst as part of efforts to strengthen the Scorchers ahead of the tournament.

The 2026 WAFCON will be held in Morocco from July 25 to August 16, with Malawi set to make their historic debut at Africa's premier women's football championship.

Singh arrives with more than 30 years of experience in football technical and advisory roles.

His previous positions include Sports Director of the South African Football Coaches Association, Technical Consultant at Botswana club Masitaoka FC, and Football Strategist for SuperSport's Soccer Africa programme.

Malawi have been drawn in Group C alongside nine-time champions Nigeria, Egypt, and Zambia, setting up a challenging campaign for the tournament debutants.

The Scorchers will face the Super Falcons as they seek to make an impact in their first appearance at the continental competition.
