WAFCON 2026: Super Falcons’ Group Opponent Adjusts Final Squad List

Nigeria’s Super Falcons’ Group C opponents at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, Malawi, have made changes to their final squad list ahead of the tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Malawi Football Association confirmed that three additional players have been invited to join the team’s camp in Morocco despite the submission of the initial final list for the competition.

The trio of Chisomo Banda, Tendai Sami and Lyna James have been called up to strengthen the Scorchers’ squad as they continue preparations for the continental showpiece.

Malawi arrived in Morocco on Tuesday evening and have commenced their final phase of preparation ahead of the tournament.

The Scorchers are scheduled to play friendly matches against hosts Morocco and Ghana as part of their build-up before the commencement of WAFCON 2026.

Malawi will compete in Group C alongside defending champions Nigeria’s Super Falcons, Zambia and Egypt. The group is expected to be one of the most competitive sections of the tournament.
