WAFCON 2026: Super Falcons Land In Group C

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has conducted the official draw for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to take place in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Defending champions Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been drawn in Group C, where they will face Zambia, Egypt, and Malawi in the group stage of the tournament.

The nine-time African champions will be aiming to extend their dominance on the continent after clinching a record 10th WAFCON title in 2025.

The Falcons secured the crown with a thrilling 3–2 victory over hosts Morocco in the final, further cementing their status as Africa’s most successful women’s national team.

Group C is expected to be competitive, with Zambia emerging as one of the strongest sides in women’s football in recent years, while Egypt and Malawi will be looking to challenge the reigning champions.

Hosts Morocco headline Group A alongside Algeria, Senegal, and Kenya.

Group B features reigning runners-up South Africa, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso, and Tanzania, while Group D consists of Ghana, Cameroon, Mali, and Cape Verde.
