WAFCON 2026: Zambia Set Up Algeria Training Camp Ahead Of Super Falcons Clash

Ahead of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, Zambia's senior women's national team, the Shepolopolo, will embark on a two-week training camp in Algeria as part of their preparations for the continental showpiece, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Copper Queens head into the tournament in high spirits after emerging champions of a recently concluded four-nation tournament in Kenya, where they delivered impressive performances against their African counterparts.

The Zambia Football Association has finalized arrangements for the team to spend two weeks in Algeria, with the camp expected to provide the players with quality preparation and competitive conditioning ahead of the tournament.

At WAFCON 2026, Zambia have been drawn in a challenging Group C alongside defending champions Nigeria's Super Falcons, Egypt and Malawi.

The tournament will take place in Morocco from July 26 to August 16, 2026, and will also serve as the African qualification pathway for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil. 

Four African nations will secure automatic qualification spots for the global competition.

Zambia will be aiming to build on their recent success and make a strong impact when they face some of the continent's top teams, including Nigeria's Super Falcons, in the race for continental glory.
