Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons, will participate in the West African Football Union (WAFU B) Four-Nation Tournament as part of preparations for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that the tournament will take place in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, from 27 February to 7 March 2026, serving as a build-up to the continental showpiece scheduled for 17 March to 3 April 2026.

NFF Director of Competitions, Ruth David, disclosed that the reigning African champions have accepted an invitation from the WAFU B Secretariat to compete in the preparatory tournament, which will feature four West African teams qualified for WAFCON 2026.

The participating nations are hosts Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria and Senegal.

According to David, the mini-tournament is designed to provide competitive match exposure ahead of the finals in Morocco. She added that Nigeria has formally confirmed its participation and that further details, including the Super Falcons squad list, will be communicated in due course.

“The list of players submitted by head coach Justin Madugu has been forwarded to the NFF technical department and will be released through the appropriate channels in the coming days,” she said.
