WAFCON Friendly: Abiodun Highlights Importance Of Victory Over Ghana

Super Falcons midfielder Deborah Abiodun has stressed the significance of Nigeria’s victory over Ghana in their WAFCON preparation, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The U.S.-based star was part of the starting lineup for the keenly contested friendly against their West African rivals.

After the match, Abiodun described the win as a positive step for the team ahead of the upcoming Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

“It was a good test match, especially against a physical side like Ghana. I think it’s very beneficial for us as a team,” she told NFF TV.

“This friendly is part of the process towards our ultimate goal at WAFCON. Whether it’s a friendly or a competitive game, winning always builds momentum. Despite the tough weather conditions, we stayed focused and got the result.”

The Super Falcons will compete in Group B at WAFCON, alongside Tunisia, Algeria, and Botswana.
