The West African Football Union B (WAFU B) has announced a high-level seminar for U17 coaches across the region, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The three-day programme, scheduled to hold from February 8 to 10 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, will bring together 14 coaches drawn from member federations, including Nigeria, Ghana, Niger, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Togo and Benin.
According to WAFU B, the seminar is designed to strengthen technical capacity and harmonise coaching standards at youth level across the zone.
Participants will undergo intensive sessions on modern training methodologies, tactics and game intelligence, mental preparation, refereeing education and pathways to CAF coaching licences.
The initiative is part of WAFU B’s broader strategy to develop elite grassroots coaching structures and prepare the next generation of West African football talent through standardized education and high-performance training frameworks.
The seminar is expected to play a key role in shaping youth development policies and improving competitive standards in U17 football across the sub-region.
