WAFU B Champions League Qualifier: Sam Nelly Coach Optimistic Of Qualifying

The head coach of Sam Nelly of Benin Republic who are in the same group of Delta Queens Frédéric Hounkponou has remained optimistic about qualifying for the group, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

African soccer ruling body during the week conducted the draw in Rabat Morocco and debutants Sam Nelly was handed a tough group involving USFA (Burkina Faso) Athletico FC (Togo) and Nigeria champion Delta Queens.

 â€œI will say it is a playable group for us. Our objective has not changed, that of getting a place for the final phase. 

Certainly, it would be difficult since we will be dealing with regulars in this competition, but not impossible.

“We are going to prepare for the competition to put the girls in their best shape.

 â€œNow is the time to thank all the Beninese sports public who have supported us and who continue to do so, this time it is no longer Sam Nelly who is playing, but rather Benin who will be on Nigerian soil and we must represent this country with dignity,” he concluded. 

The West Zone B qualifier tournament will take place in Benin City Edo State Nigeria from August 18-31, 2023.
