Nigeria's representative in the WAFU B Women Champions League qualifiers Bayelsa Queens lived up to expectations as they defeat USFA of Burkina Faso in the final group match, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian champions began their campaign in the tournament with a 5-0 thumping of Athleta Ladies of Togo.

They then drew goalless with their arch rivals Ampem Darkoa Ladies of Ghana to maintain their position on top of the log.

It was Falconets returnee, Flourish Sebastian that opened scoring in the 5th minute against USFA before Lala Traore levelled the scoreline for the Burkinababes in the 15th minute.

Etim Edidong made 2-1 for Bayelsa Queens in the 38th minute and seized control of the match going into halftime.

The Burkinabes fought hard to come back in the second half but Nigeria's defence line proved too strong for them.

Mary Aderemi sealed the game for Nigeria with the third goal in added time and ensured that Bayelsa Queen secured maximum points.

Meanwhile, Bayelsa Queens top the group with 7 points ahead of Ampem Darkoa who also have the same number of points but had to drop to the second position due to inferior goals difference.
