The President of the West African Football Union Zone B (WAFU B), Ibrahim Gusau, has arrived in Ouagadougou ahead of the opening ceremony of the 2025 WAFU B U-15 Secondary School Championship scheduled to kick off in Burkina Faso, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Gusau, who also serves as President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), departed Nigeria on Saturday evening, shortly after the country’s U-15 boys’ team travelled for the tournament.

The 2025 WAFU B U-15 tournament will be held from December 1-4, 2025.

The championship, organised under the auspices of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), forms an essential component of the continent’s long-term grassroots football development strategy. It aims to identify emerging talents while expanding youth participation across member nations.

WAFU B is widely regarded as one of Africa’s most competitive football zones, comprising regional heavyweights such as Nigeria, Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin Republic, Niger, and hosts Burkina Faso. This year’s U-15 competition is expected to further showcase the depth of talent within the sub-region.
