WAFU B U-20: Flying Eagles Intensify Preparations For Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire

Nigeria’s U20 boys, Flying Eagles have intensified preparations ahead of their participation at this year’s WAFU B U20 Championship in Togo, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The team moved to Ikenne, Ogun State for a final camping programme under the watch of Aliyu Zubairu.

On Thursday morning, they had a light training session, which took place under the watchful eyes of the gaffer and his assistants. The morning session lasted for an hour and 30 minutes.

According to Sharif Abdallah, Flying Eagles, Media Officer, the concept is part of the plans for the players to have adequate rest and avoid fatigue as advised by the medical team.

The team is expected to have gym training session scheduled to take place later in the evening from 5-6 pm.

Flying Eagles will battle Burkina Faso and Cote d’Ivoire in a three-team Group B in their quest to defend the title they won in Niger Republic two years ago.

The championship in Togo serves as the qualifying tournament for next year’s Africa U20 Cup of Nations, from where the top-placed four teams will qualify to fly Africa’s flag at next year’s FIFA U20 World Cup finals in Chile.
