WAFU B U17: Eaglets Beat Côte d'Ivoire To Pick AFCON Ticket

Golden Eaglets of Nigeria on Tuesday defeated Baby Elephants of Côte d'Ivoire 3-1 in the semi-final of the ongoing U17 WAFU B tourney in Ghana to pick one of the two tickets for the CAF U17 African Nations Cup.


Côte d'Ivoire's Diamande in the second minute got a deserved penalty and was converted to put the group A runners-up ahead


The best free-taker in the competition, Emmanuel Michael scored a brace to cancel out the Baby Elephants early lead. Abdullahi Idris made it three for Nigeria with a beautiful header in the 61st minute. Meanwhile, the Baby Elephants were reduced to 10 men after Mustapha received a red card in the 65th minute.


Nigeria will now face the winner between Ghana and Burkina Faso in the final.
