WAFU B U17: Five Golden Eaglets Players Selected Among Tournament Best XI

Golden Eaglets Coach, Nduka Ugbade has been listed as the Coach of the tournament with five of his players in the official Team of the just-concluded U17 WAFU B tournament in Ghana.

The five-time world champions on Friday night defeated Burkina Faso 2-1 in the final to lift the title for the first time.

The five Golden Eaglets picked on the Team of the Tournament are; goalkeeper Richard Odoh, defenders Emmanuel Michael, Jeremiah Olaleke and two forwards; Yahaya Lawal as well as striker Abubakar Abdullahi Idris, who scored a brace in the Final against Burkina Faso.

The runners-up, Burkina Faso have three players, while Cote d’Ivoire, Niger and Benin provided a player each.

Nigeria and Burkina Faso will represent the sub-region at the U17 AFCON in Algeria, which will serve as qualifiers for the 2023 U17 FIFA World Cup in Peru in October 2023.
