WAFU B U17: Golden Eaglets Eye Semifinal Ticket With Clash Against Togo

Nigeria Golden Eaglets will play their West African Football Union (WAFU B) U17 Group A second match against Togo at 4pm today, BSNSports.com.ng can report.


The five-time World champions had in the tournament opener on Saturday beat hosts, Ghana 4-2 and a draw against Togo will be enough for the Nduka Ugbade tutored team to progress to the semi-finals. 


Group B matches continue on Wednesday as Niger Republic face Côte d'Ivoire at 4pm while Benin Republic lock horns with Burkina Faso at 7pm. 


Meanwhile, Ghana will aim at winning their last group A match against Togo on Friday. A win will guarantee the hosts a semifinal ticket.


Seven West African countries, Nigeria, Ghana and Togo in group A and Ivory Coast, Benin Republic, Niger Republic and Burkina Faso in group B will fight for two tickets for CAF U17 AFCON.


Two finalists in the tourney will represent West African countries at the U17 African Nations Cup to be hosted by Algeria in March 2023.
