WAFU B U17: NFF To Release 20-man List Ahead Ghana Trip

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will soon release the Golden Eaglets 20-man list for West African Football Union kWAFU) B U17 tournament in Ghana, BSNSports.com.ng can report.


The twenty players will be chosen from pool of 60 who passed their MRI tests and were part of training and friendly match on Wednesday where they won 8-0 against FC Hearts.


Meanwhile, the WAFU B U20 champions, Flying Eagles went to the competition in Niamey with 28 players. Though, 20 were registered while the remaining 8 were on stand-by list. However, the five-time World champions, Golden Eaglets would not enjoy such opportunity.


And according to travel plans, the team will play friendly matches on their way to Ghana. They will have a stop-over in Benin Republic and Togo respectively where they are expected to play international friendly matches before their arrival in Ghana.


The Zone B Championship, which serves as qualifiers for the TotalEnergies Africa U17 Cup of Nations, will be hosted in the city in the central part of Ghana.


It will be staged from Saturday June 11 to Friday June 24, 2022.


The tournament will feature host Ghana, defending Champions Cote D’Ivoire, giants Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin and Niger.


The participating teams will vie for the trophy and tickets to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. Only finalists qualify for the U17 AFCON.
