WAFU B U20: Burkina Faso Maintain 100% Run, Stroll into Knockout

The Burkina Babes stroll into the knockout phase of the ongoing WAFU B U-20 tournament on a clean slate after defeating Niger 2-0 in their third Group stage game at the Stade Lycée in Cóte d'Ivoire, bsnsports.com.ng reports.

Burkina Faso U-20 started their campaign like a house on fire with a lone goal scored by Zakaria Tinta over host nation Cóte d'Ivoire on Friday the 7th of July 2023, thereby making a statement of intent.

Burkina Faso then trounced Ghana 2-0 in the second game three days later, with Abdoul Kader Ouattara bagging a brace in the 12th and 74th minutes in both halves, with Daniel Afful getting sent off in the 60th minute for Ghana.

Burkina Faso showed no signs of relenting in their third game, as they defeated Niger 2-0, to book a spot in the knockout round without conceding a goal all through, consequently keeping 3 clean sheets while scoring 5 goals.
