WAFU B U20: Flying Eagles Coach Reveals Plan To Move Team Out Abuja
By Niyi Busari
Flying Eagles head coach, Aliyu Zubairu said he is worried about not having enough utilization of the pitch in getting the players ready ahead of the 2024 West African Football Union (WAFU) B U20 Championship, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Flying Eagles resumed camping in Abuja last Thursday, however, the head coach has raised concern over not having enough time in the usage of the FIFA Goal Project for perfection of his tactics and strategy ahead of the regional competition.
"I am not under pressure to qualify the team for CAF U20 Nation Cup from WAFU B Competition." He told www.bsnsports.com.ng.
He continued, "the only thing that is a bit worrisome is the duration we have to train because the field is being utilized by about three to four teams daily. The Flamingos, and some other teams use the pitch everyday. So, we are not having enough utilization of the pitch.
"Though subject to NFF approval, we are working out the possibility of moving the team to a place where we can get better usage of facility. " He concluded.
The ongoing Flying Eagles screening exercise and training are meant to select final 23 players for the 2024 WAFU B U20 Championship, scheduled for October and November in Togo. Only two finalists in the regional age grade tournament will qualify for the CAF U20 Nation Cup.
