WAFU B U20: Flying Eagles Likely To Face Niger In Semi-Final

Nigeria's Flying Eagles are on course to face Niger's Young Mena in the semi-finals of the WAFU B U20 Championship, despite having one group-stage fixture still to play, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The likely semi-final pairing emerged after Niger finished second in Group A following a 2-0 defeat to Côte d'Ivoire's Young Elephants on Saturday.

The Flying Eagles will take on Burkina Faso in their final Group B match on Sunday, with the result set to determine their semi-final opponents.

A draw or victory against Burkina Faso will see Nigeria finish top of Group B, setting up a last-four clash with Niger.

However, should the Flying Eagles suffer defeat, they would finish second in the group and face Group A winners Côte d'Ivoire in the semi-finals.

The outcome of Sunday's encounter will therefore decide Nigeria's path as they continue their quest for the WAFU B U20 Championship title.
