WAFU B U20: Flying Eagles Target Winning Start Against Ghana

Nigeria's U20 national team, the Flying Eagles, will begin the defence of their WAFU B U20 Championship title against Ghana's Black Satellites on Sunday, July 27, in Yamoussoukro, Côte d'Ivoire, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Group B encounter, scheduled for the Lycée Scientifique de Yamoussoukro, will kick off at 2:00 p.m. local time (3:00 p.m. Nigeria time). It will be a repeat of the 2024 WAFU B U20 Championship final in Lomé, where Nigeria defeated Ghana 2-1 to lift the title.
The Flying Eagles will return to action on Wednesday, July 30, when they take on Togo's Junior Sparrow Hawks at the same venue. Kick-off is also scheduled for 2:00 p.m. local time (3:00 p.m. Nigeria time).
Nigeria will conclude their Group B campaign against Burkina Faso's Young Stallions on Saturday, August 2, with the match also taking place at the Lycée Scientifique de Yamoussoukro. The fixture will begin at 2:00 p.m. local time (3:00 p.m. Nigeria time).
The team, led by head coach Abdu Maikaba, is expected to depart Nigeria on Monday following several weeks of intensive training and screening exercises in Abuja as preparations enter the final phase for the regional championship.
