WAFU B U20: NFF Showers Dollars On Victorious Flying Eagles

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Wednesday showered Two thousand and four hundred US dollar ($2,400) on each player of the Flying Eagles as take home for winning the West African Football Union WAFU U20 in Niger Republic, BSNSports.com.ng can authoritatively report.

Flying Eagles defeated their arch-rivals, Ghana 2-0 in the group B opening match before a 2-2 draw with Burkina Faso. A dying minute penalty converted by Yahaya saw off Young Elephants of Côte d'Ivoire in the semi-final before winning Benin Republic 3-1 in the final.

The 2022 edition won by the seven-time African champions was the first since the inception of the tournament in 2018.

Despite attracting highest number of sponsors, the Amaju Pinnick -led NFF cancelled the bonus and allowances of all under-aged national teams but said team that emerge event champions would be compesated .
