WAFU B U20: Tornadoes' Midfielder Replaces Daniel Daga

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have altered the 20-man list of players submitted ahead of the WAFU B U20 Championship, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Daniel Daga one of the most experienced players in Flying Eagles was sent packing after his failure to submit passport for the trip to Togo.
Source in the camp of the Nigeria U20 team told www.bsnsports.com.ng Daga passport which was submitted at Norway embassy could not be withdrawn until the deadline.
Without wasting time, the coaching crew invited Niger Tornadoes defensive midfielder, Sabiu Ibrahim as replacement for Daniel Daga.
Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will begin defence of their West African Football Union WAFU-B Under 20 crown against Burkinabe opponents on Friday 18 October 2024 in Lome Togo.
The opening Group B match of the African sub-regional youth tournament is slated for the Municipal Stadium in Lome with kick off set at 3pm local time.
Next up for the coach Aliyu Zubairu tutored Eagles are the Ivorians in a final Group B game, six days later.
The match will also be played at the Municipal Stadium and kick-off is also 3pm.
The WAFU B competition will begin on Thursday 17 October 2024, when hosts Togo take on Niger at the Kegue Stadium.
Ghana and Benin are the other teams in Group A.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals of the qualifying competition for next year’s U20 AFCON in South Africa.
