Ghanaian referee Julian Nunoo and Theophilus Akugre (an assistant referee) have been chosen to officiate Wednesday's clash of titans between host Ivory Coast and Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nunoo will act as the main referee for the highly anticipated semi-final. Meanwhile, Akugre has been assigned as Assistant Referee 2 for the game at Charles Konan Banny Stadium.

The semi-final is set to attract significant attention as Ivory Coast and Nigeria compete for a spot in the final, each aiming to advance in their quest for continental qualification.

Ivory Coast secured their place in the semi-finals by finishing top of Group A with a strong performance at home.

Nigeria also progressed from Group B, highlighted by a dramatic victory over Ghana in their opening match.

The inclusion of Nunoo and Akugre reflects Ghana’s expanding influence in international football officiating and the trust placed in local referees on the regional platform.
