Nigeria’s Flying Eagles began their 2025 WAFU B U-20 Boys’ Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw against hosts Ghana in the Group A opener on Thursday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ghana took the lead in the 23rd minute through Musibau Aziz, who fired a brilliant shot past Nigerian goalkeeper Ebenezer Harcourt after receiving a low cross from the right flank.

The Flying Eagles responded late in the second half, with Abdulahi Abiodun heading home the equaliser from a corner in the 82nd minute to rescue a point for Nigeria.

The tournament serves as part of Nigeria’s build-up to the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, scheduled to run from September 27 to October 19.
