Black Satellites of Ghana head coach, Fatawu Salifu, has set his sights on defeating Nigeria’s Flying Eagles at the upcoming 2025 WAFU U20 Championship, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Ghana, who will host the regional tournament, find themselves drawn in the same group as Nigeria and Benin Republic.
Speaking to the Ghana Football Association media, Salifu admitted he expects a fierce battle in the group stage.
“We’ve been eagerly waiting to know our group opponents, and today we found out that we’ll be facing Nigeria and Benin,” the former Heart of Lions coach said.
“A group with Ghana and Nigeria always guarantees tough competition. It’s typical of WAFU tournaments.
“With Ghana, Nigeria, and Benin in the same group, it’s going to be a competitive one, but our goal is simple beat both teams and secure qualification,” Salifu concluded.
