WAFU Zone B U20: Semifinal Lineup Confirmed as Giants Clash on Sunday

The semifinal lineup for the 2025 WAFU Zone B U20 Championship has been confirmed, with Nigeria, Niger Republic, Ghana, and Côte d’Ivoire emerging as the four teams to advance from the group stage, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Group A winners Nigeria will square off against Group B runners-up Niger Republic, while Group B leaders Côte d’Ivoire will face hosts Ghana in the second semifinal on Sunday, July 20, 2025.

Nigeria booked their place at the top of Group A after a solid campaign that saw them draw 1-1 with Ghana in the tournament opener, followed by a comprehensive 4-1 victory over Benin Republic. Ghana, who also finished with four points, secured a slim 1-0 win over Benin but fell behind Nigeria on goal difference.

In Group B, Côte d’Ivoire claimed top spot with a crucial 2-0 win over Togo in their final group game on Thursday. Niger Republic, who drew 0-0 with Burkina Faso, progressed as runners-up thanks to their earlier results and superior points tally.

The semifinal stage promises intense fixtures, as West Africa’s emerging football talents battle for regional supremacy and a shot at the championship title.
