WTT Lagos: Why Aruna Quadri Will Miss Tournament

As the World Table Tennis Lagos Contender serves off, the Vice President of the International Table Tennis Federation ( ITTF) Waheed Enitan Oshodi has revealed the reason Nigerian star Aruna Quadri will miss out, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Quadri is one of the big stars expected to grace the occasion but he has decided to stay back due to injury.

Oshodi confirmed that Quadri is injured and is recovering very well but it will be soon for him as he has to prioritize playing at the Olympics in Paris.

" Aruna is injured, I think was in Chongqing in China and we thought he would be fit by now, but the balance is that here, get injured again, and then we are a month away from the Olympics.

" The big one for Aruna is the Olympics, is very, very, important for him.

"I think he will do well at the Olympics, I remember in 2014 I told a few people that he could get to the semi-final and they thought it was a joke.

"He got to the quarter-final and was unlucky to meet Ma Long, the number one in the World.

"This year, whoever he meets, Aruna has beaten everybody in the World, I think this might be the year for him ", he said.
