WTT Singapore Smash: Brazilian Calderano Ends Aruna Quadri Dream

The good run of the Nigeria table tennis star Aruna Quadri has come to an end as he suffered a huge defeat to the Brazilian Hugo Calderano, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The African number One produced a master-class performance to reach the quarter-final after beating World number 4, Tomokazu Harimoto in the three straight sets.

Aruna was brought down to earth on Friday by Calderano with a 4-0 spanking.

The world number 5 dominated the game from the start to the end winning all the sets (11-7) (12-10) (11-2) (11-2).

Aruna's run remained the best for an African player in the history of the competition.
