We Are In High Spirit Ahead The AFCON 2023 Clash With Nigeria- Sierra Leone Defender

Ahead of the opening group clash against Nigeria's Super Eagles, Leone Stars of Sierra Leone defender, Osman Kakay, has confirmed that the team is in high spirit, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

The Leone Stars who have been in Nigeria since last weekend will take to the pitch on Thursday against the 3-time African champions in the qualifier of the 2023 African Cup of Nations.

Kakay said he respected the Nigeria side but they are ready to give their best in order to make the Sierra Leoneans happy.

"The boys are in high spirit and we are preparing well for the game against Nigeria.

"Though we respect Nigeria, we will give everything and play our heart out for Sierra Leone and give the fans back home what they want," he said.

The match which is fixed for MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja will kick off by 5 pm.

After playing Nigeria on Thursday the Leone Stars will host Guinea Bissau in the second group match on Monday.
