We Are In The Champions League To Make A Statement - Osimhen

Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, has declared that his team is in the UEFA Champions League to make a bold statement, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian forward has been in impressive form for the Turkish champions, scoring three goals in his last two Champions League appearances.

Speaking with UEFA.com, Osimhen revealed the club’s ambition to make a name for themselves in Europe.

“I spoke with the president when I arrived here, and we want to really make a statement in the Champions League. We want to show that, in Türkiye, we are the team that the whole world will know this year because we actually did something amazing in Europe,” Osimhen said.

He further emphasized the team’s dominance domestically and their hunger to extend that success onto the continental stage.

“We’ve dominated the league for years. We will keep dominating it, but now it’s time to make a statement in the most prestigious Champions League games, because it’s beautiful to play in the Champions League. So, for us, we want to make a statement.”

Galatasaray are hoping that Osimhen’s leadership and scoring prowess will help it make a deep run in this season’s competition.
