Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Hoffenheim defender, Kevin Akpoguma, believes his team got a fair result in their clash against VfB Stuttgart, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Hoffenheim fought back from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw on Sunday, thanks to a strike from Nigerian forward Gift Orban. “It was a deserved 1-1. In the first half, VfB were the better side. In the second half, we showed more passion and energy,” Akpoguma said.

“We created our goal through good pressing and even had a chance to win, but overall, the draw was fair.”

Reflecting on Stuttgart’s opener, he admitted: “We fell asleep for the 1-0 and should have defended better. Stuttgart have a lot of attacking quality.”

“We had a clear plan and executed it well. In the second half, we moved the ball better and improved our game.”

He also highlighted the team’s resilience: “Once again, we showed character by coming from behind. Every point is important, so I’m satisfied. However, we must stop conceding early goals—otherwise, we’ll always be chasing the game.”
