We’re Creating New Opportunities Through American Football- Akeredolu
President of the Nigerian American Football Association (NAFA) , Babajide Akeredolu has said that the Association will continue to expand the American football community, adding that the sports activity has come to stay in Nigeria.
Akeredolu, while speaking with reporter at the special Super Bowl Watch Party in Lagos, said that NAFA in collaboration with Browns Nigeria, is creating opportunities in the country through American football.
The special Super Bowl Watch Party held in Lagos and Abuja witnessed the NFL Super Bowl LIV showdown and the victory of Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans.
NAFA in partnership with Browns Nigeria hosted Fans of American Football both within and outside Lagos and Abuja to a funfair to celebrate the sport and fans in the country.
According to the President, NAFA in partnership with Fan Africa Entertainment, aimed to promote the Cleveland Browns brand, increase awareness of American football, and engage Nigeria’s growing football community.
The event was attended by over 300 fan, which according to the host signaled the rising interest in American football in Nigeria, particularly among the youth, and highlighted NAFA’s efforts to grow the sport in the country.
Akeredolu said:”The Super Bowl Watch Party marked a significant milestone in NAFA’s efforts to grow American football in Nigeria.
“By combining immersive experiences, interactive activities, and strategic partnerships, this event successfully engaged both existing fans and newcomers.
“With a strong turnout and enthusiastic participation, the watch party has the potential for American football to thrive in Nigeria, particularly among the younger generation.
“NAFA plans to build on this success, with more events and initiatives aimed at fostering a vibrant American football community in the country."
