What 3SC Need To Replicate 80s,90s Performances - Ogunbote

Shooting Stars Sports Club of Ibadan (3SC ) Head Coach, Gbenga Ogunbote has highlighted what the state government needs to do for the club to replicate their performances in the 80s and 90s when they won trophies in Nigeria and in the continent, BSNSports.com.nf

Ogunbote in an exclusive interview with www.bsnsports.com.ng charged Oyo State government to allocate more funds to purchase advanced training equipment as well as improved welfare package for players and officials. 

"Well I think we are on course, so many things are responsible for 3SC performance. I think it is beyond just the players. You can't clap with one hand, we need a lot of finances and right equipment, preparation and the continuous taken care of players' welfare in general. Gbenga Ogunbote told BSN Sports in Abuja on Wednesday.

 So far, one thing has been in my mind when questions are asked about why 3SC are not performing and winning trophies like in the 80s and 90s. To answer this, first, certain things are not like it's used to be. You need to do a thorough research and look at it what it was that they were they doing in the past. Where did we get it wrong , what were they doing then that we are not doing now and what were they not doing then that we are doing now ,so if these questions can be realistically answered then success is very very real. So, i think there are so many things we need to put into consideration.

Shooting Stars are five times champions of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) and eight time winners of FA (Federation) Cup. Champions of African Cup Winners Cup in 1979, also won the CAF Cup in 1992 and West African Club Championship in 1998. Shooting Stars are also two times runners-up in the CAF Champions League.
