The Senator representing Bauchi central senatorial district said, "The federal government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has done well by investing huge amount of money in sports development. And the only way to pay back is to come back with the world cup ticket.
"I am very comfortable with the list of invited of 23 players but I want to plead that the players should forget all what happened or that did not happen in the past. At this time, we need to forgive individuals, this country is greater than all of us. They should look at Nigeria as an entity and not taking cognisance of what administrators did or didn't do well to pay back the country because somebody didn't pay allowance. In the interest of this country, they should look at Nigeria first. Once they do that, I believe that victory is assured.
