Who Starts? How Nigeria Could Line Up Against Jordan in Invitational Finale

The Nigeria national football team, Super Eagles, are expected to make measured changes to their starting lineup as they prepare to face Jordan national football team in their final match of a four-nation invitational tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Head coach Eric Chelle is likely to balance continuity with squad rotation following Nigeria’s 2–1 victory over Iran, a result that has put the team in a strong position to claim the tournament title.

In goal, Maduka Okoye is expected to retain his place after a composed performance in the previous match. His consistency and command of the penalty area continue to make him a reliable option.

Defensively, Chelle may introduce changes in central defence. Emmanuel Fernandez and Chibuike Nwaiwu, who both made their senior debuts against Iran, are in contention to start as Nigeria look to build depth and cohesion at the back. Bright Osayi-Samuel is expected to continue at right-back, while Zaidu Sanusi should feature on the left.

In midfield, Raphael Onyedika is likely to anchor the team with his defensive discipline and ball-winning ability. He could be partnered by Alex Iwobi, whose creativity and forward movement remain key to Nigeria’s attacking transitions. Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is also pushing for inclusion, either from the start or as an impact substitute.

On the flanks, Samuel Chukwueze and Ademola Lookman are expected to provide width, pace, and direct attacking threat. Frank Onyeka could also feature in a more advanced midfield role, offering energy and pressing intensity.

In attack, Akor Adams is in contention to lead the line after scoring in the previous match. However, Paul Onuachu remains a strong alternative, particularly if Nigeria opt for a more physical approach in the final third.

With competition for places intensifying, the match provides an important opportunity for players to impress ahead of upcoming competitive fixtures.
