The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has explained that complication in the process of securing visa into Germany was the reason the Golden Eaglets decided to shun the European tour for Algeria the venue of the 2023 CAF U17 African Nations Cup.

NFF had in a communique stated that the five-time World Champions would go on European tour of Germany to further their preparations for the U17 AFCON but visa hitches ended the dream.

The NFF on Sunday released 26 players that made the cut of the Nigeria U17 national team before leaving for Algeria.

Nigeria will launch her campaign for honours at the 12-team continental championship on Sunday next week against Zambia at Stade Mohammed Hamlaoui. They will then take on Morocco and South Africa in other group B matches.

The top four placed teams at the tournament will fly African flag at the FIFA U17 World Cup later this year.
