Why I Joined Wolves - Arokodare
Sampson Adedeji
Tolu Arokodare has revealed that Wolverhampton Wanderers’ history of developing players was a major factor in his decision to join the Premier League side, BSNSports.com.ng reports
The Nigeria international sealed a deadline-day move to Molineux on Monday, arriving from Genk after finishing last season as the Belgian Pro League’s Golden Boot winner.
“It feels amazing. It took a while, but I’m finally here and I’m happy,” Arokodare said after his unveiling.
“I didn’t need any convincing. I know the history of the club, the players that have been here, and how they’ve progressed to become better. I like the club’s project and that’s exactly what I want to improve, to progress, and to help this team.”
The 24-year-old believes his playing style will suit Wolves perfectly.
“I think I’ll fit in pretty well. If you look at the strikers here, we have almost the same profile, so adapting won’t be difficult. You saw how well Jørgen Strand Larsen did last season, and I’m just here to help the team.
“The Premier League is a league of physicality, intensity, and constant running, and I think that fits me. I’m strong, I’m fast. Of course, the first few games won’t be easy, but I’m ready for the challenge.”
Having already played in Germany, France, and Belgium, Arokodare says England was the natural next step in his career.
“It was time. I had my mind set on this move because this was the league missing from my journey. Finally, I’m here, and I’m happy.”
