Why I Lost To Oleksandr Usyk - Tyson Fury

Tyson Fury shortly after losing the undisputed bout to Oleksandr Usyk attributed the loss to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Oleksandr Usyk on Sunday morning defeated Tyson Fury in Saudi Arabia to win the undisputed heavyweight title.

According to Tyson Fury the war in Ukraine is why the judges gave Oleksandr Usyk the win.

After nearly 25 years, Oleksandr Usyk became the first undisputed heavyweight champion since Lennox Lewis, defeating Mike Tyson via split decision.

The heavyweight fight has risen to the top of the trends on social media.

After the loss, Fury in the post-fight interview stated that Usyk won because his country is at war.

He said, "I believe I won that fight, I believe he won a few of the rounds, but I won the majority of them.

"We both put on a good fight. His country is at war, so people are siding with the country at war.

"Make no mistake, I won that fight in my opinion. We've got a rematch clause. I've had a split decision loss to a good little man.

"We run it back in October. Well done Oleksandr."

Usyk on the other hand stated that he has been planning for this fight since 2008.

He said, “Since 2008 I was planning for this. It’s not for my win, it’s for my God, my supporters, my country, the Ukrainian soldiers, Ukrainian mother and father, children.

"I want to go to my home, I want to rest, a break, I want to eat, sleep, kiss my wife.”

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk has a guaranteed rematch clause with the second fight planned for Oct 12th/13th.
