Why I Returned To Italy To Join Serie D Club - Onazi

Super Eagles midfielder Ogenyi Onazi has revealed reason behind his motive to the Italian Serie D side Casertana FC, BSNsports.com.ng has gathered.

The former Trabzonspor of Turkey player returned to Italy last weekend and his move to the lower division side surprised many of his fans.

During his presentation, the energetic midfielder debunked the rumour that he joined the club for money but choose to say that the moved was because of the ambition of the team.

"Before I came here, I spoke to my agent. I'm not here for money, I want a team that has an ambition and a firm goal. 

"The President spoke clearly to me. And I am a player who loves to take responsibility. I know it's not easy. 

"Everyone is waiting for me, but I am ready, energized and motivated. I told the president that it is not only Eddy Onazi, but the group is important. 

"The president and the director have done everything to bring me here, now we have to do our part, me and my companions.

"I'm here to win. We have to face every game as a final and we must always be united. I talked to my family to return to Italy and make my President number 1.

"I have received many offers in recent days, and there were important economic proposals on the table, but I had given my word to President D'Agostino. 

"I wanted to wear this shirt. Yesterday I attended the game with great pleasure and I saw a team playing the ball on the ground which has a clear identity given by the coach. 

"My condition? I'm fine. As soon as the championship was over, I continued to train in my country with the national team. I can't go without working every day," he told the club media.
