Why I'm Committed To Grassroots Football Development, Says Badagry Divisional FA Chairman

Chairman of the Badagry Divisional Football Association, Dr. Ozondu Martins, has shared the primary reason behind his commitment to grassroots football and his goals for significant investment in the sport's early stages, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

The grassroots football development investor expressed his desire to create a lasting legacy focused on youth development through the medium of football.

He mentioned that his mission is to provide underprivileged children with a chance to restore their hope through the sport.

"My greatest mission is to ensure that every child out there, who is crying due to a lack of hope, finds hope through football."

He elaborated on his vision, stating, "My aim is to empower these children, coaches, referees, and club owners through football, and ultimately, to use the sport as a means to steer youths away from crime and social issues."

He recognized that life at the grassroots level can be tough, but with perseverance and determination, one can reach their objectives, as football at this level demands a patient approach and waiting for results. Nevertheless, he noted that patience has been a vital source of strength throughout his journey.

"One of the most significant aspects that has fueled my strength is patience. In everything we do, patience is essential. The right time will always come through dedication, and our efforts yield results, pushing us to improve upon our past achievements."

Dr. Ozondu also highlighted the importance of ongoing training in the field to stay updated on current trends and best practices in grassroots football development.
